What E02 actually means
The machine isn't getting water in, so it has given up waiting and stopped the cycle.
Willow's control board expects the drum to reach a set water level within a certain time of the fill valve opening. When that doesn't happen, it flags E02 as a no-inlet-water fault and halts the programme, usually right at the start of the wash before the drum has turned. Most of the time the machine itself is fine and the water is being held up somewhere between the tap and the inlet valve.
What E02 looks like on a Willow washer dryer
Most people find this page having searched for what the machine is doing rather than the code itself. On a Willow washer dryer, E02 usually shows up as one or more of these:
- Not filling with water
- No water going in
- Takes for ever to fill
- Stops right at the start of the cycle
- Overfilling, or won't stop filling
- Stops with water still inside
- Fills and drains over and over
- No function at all

What usually causes it
- The water tap behind or under the machine is turned off, or only part-open
- A kinked or trapped inlet hose, often after the machine has been pushed back into place
- Blocked filter in the inlet valve where the hose screws on, usually silted up with grit from the mains
- Low mains water pressure, or the supply to the house being off
- On a new installation, the inlet hose not properly connected to the supply
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Check the water tap feeding the machine is fully open, and that other taps in the house are running normally
- Look behind the machine for a kinked or squashed inlet hose and straighten it without pulling the appliance about
- Make sure START/PAUSE was actually pressed and no delayed start is set
- Turn the machine off at the wall for a minute, then power it back up and restart a short cycle to see if the code returns
