What E14 actually means

The machine has flagged a fault with its Twinjet system — the part that sprays water into the drum — and has stopped the programme rather than carry on.

Willow's fault table lists E14 as a Twinjet failure. The control board expects a response from that part of the water circuit during the cycle, doesn't get one, and halts with the code on the display. The service documents don't break the fault down any further, so the exact cause has to be found on the machine itself.

What usually causes it

  • Blocked or scaled-up spray nozzle in the Twinjet circuit
  • Failed Twinjet valve or pump
  • Loose or corroded connection to that part
  • Control board no longer reading the component correctly

What you can safely check yourself

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.

  1. Turn the programme knob to off, leave it for a few seconds, then restart — a one-off glitch will clear and not come back
  2. Switch off at the wall for a minute before restarting
  3. Check the inlet hose isn't kinked and the tap is fully open, so the machine has full pressure to work with
  4. Clean the drain pump filter and inlet tap filter if you can reach them without tools

When to call someone

This one usually needs an engineer once you have tried the checks above. We cover Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire, and it's £66 including VAT for an engineer to come out and diagnose it — £84 in total if it's repaired on the visit with no parts needed. Any parts needed are quoted on site before we fit them — you decide. Every repair carries a 90-day workmanship guarantee.

Outside our area? The explanation above still stands — take it to a local engineer and tell them the code. Knowing it saves them time and you money.
