What E06 actually means
The control board has spotted a fault in the part of itself that switches power to the drum motor, and it has shut the machine down rather than risk the drum running when it shouldn't.
Inside the main electronic board there is a switching device (a triac) that feeds the wash motor. E06 is that triac being short circuited or behaving like a diode — in other words stuck passing current instead of switching cleanly on and off. Because a stuck motor switch could drive the drum at the wrong moment, the machine stops and displays the code rather than continuing the cycle.
What E06 looks like on a Blomberg washer dryer
Most people find this page having searched for what the machine is doing rather than the code itself. On a Blomberg washer dryer, E06 usually shows up as one or more of these:
- Drum not turning
- Won't spin
- Hums or buzzes but nothing moves
- Turns one way only
- No function at all

What usually causes it
- A failed motor triac on the main control board
- Damage to the board from a power surge or a mains spike

- A failing motor drawing more current than the board can switch and taking the triac out with it
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Turn the machine off at the wall socket, leave it a minute, then switch back on and see whether the code returns on a fresh cycle — a one-off glitch can clear this way
- If the drum starts turning on its own or turns when the programme should be idle, switch it off at the wall and leave it off until it has been looked at
