What E09 actually means
The control board and the display/unit are no longer talking to each other, so the appliance shuts down rather than run blind.
E09 on these Hisense AH-series units is a communication failure between the control electronics and the display or the main PCB. The two boards exchange signals constantly over a thin signal wire; when those messages stop arriving or arrive corrupted, the machine stops and shows the code rather than continue without knowing what the sensors are reading. Worth knowing: the AH-200NH4GHB and AH-300NH4GHB are heat pump water heater units, so if you have arrived here expecting a fridge freezer fault, the code you are looking at is probably from a different family of appliance and this page will not apply.

What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Switch the unit off at the wall, leave it for a minute, then switch back on — a one-off communication glitch will often clear and not return.
- Move any powerful electrical equipment sitting right against the unit away from it, if that is easy to do without disturbing pipework or cables.
