What F02 actually means
The dishwasher has spotted water flowing into the machine at a time when its fill valve is supposed to be shut, so it has stopped to avoid overfilling.
There is a small paddle-type flow meter in the fill line that counts water passing through it. On this Y-series board, F02 is raised when that meter keeps registering flow while the inlet valve has been switched off — in other words, the machine believes water is getting in uncontrolled. It halts rather than carry on filling, and on the WK-AT45FSDW you will typically see the lights blinking rather than a normal cycle.
What F02 looks like on a White Knight dishwasher
Most people find this page having searched for what the machine is doing rather than the code itself. On a White Knight dishwasher, F02 usually shows up as one or more of these:
- Dishwasher not draining
- Water left in the tub at the end of the cycle
- Stops mid-cycle full of water
- Standing water in the bottom
- Not filling with water
- No water going in

What usually causes it
- An inlet valve that is not closing fully and is passing water
- A faulty or sticking flow meter sending false counts
- Mains water pressure very high, keeping the valve seat open
- A wiring or control board fault leaving the valve energised
- Water siphoning back into the machine from a badly routed drain hose
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Turn the machine off at the wall for a minute, then switch back on and see whether the code returns
- Turn off the water supply tap behind or under the unit if water is clearly still trickling in
- Check the fill hose and drain hose are not kinked or trapped, and that the drain hose has not dropped low into the sink waste
