What F03 actually means
The dishwasher isn't getting the water it expects, or it can't measure the water going in, so it has stopped the cycle.
White Knight dishwashers count pulses from a flow meter on the water inlet to work out how much water has entered the tub. When the control board asks for a fill and no pulses come back, it flags F03 and abandons the programme rather than run with an unknown amount of water. On this model you'll typically see the cycle stall early on with the lights or display flashing and little or no water in the base.
What F03 looks like on a White Knight dishwasher

What usually causes it
- Water supply tap turned off or only part open
- Kinked, trapped or crushed fill hose behind the machine
- Blocked filter in the inlet hose connection at the tap
- Faulty flow meter, or its wiring, so pulses never reach the control board
- Failed water inlet valve not opening when told to
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Check the cold water tap feeding the dishwasher is fully open.
- Pull the machine forward gently and make sure the fill hose isn't kinked or squashed against the wall.
- Turn it off at the wall for a minute, then power up and start a short programme to see whether the code returns.
- Clean out the filters in the base of the tub while you're there — it won't cure a fill fault, but it rules out a poor drain confusing matters.
