What E30-10 actually means
The machine has given up waiting for water — it hasn't filled to the level it expects in the time allowed, so it stops the cycle.
On Bosch washer dryers (and the Siemens/Neff machines built on the same platform) the control board times how long the intake valve is open against how quickly the water level rises. If the drum hasn't taken on enough water within that window, the board halts the programme and shows this code rather than run the drum or heater dry. It typically appears right at the start of a wash, before any real drum movement, which is why owners describe it as the machine "stalling" a minute or two in. On older Bosch washers, before roughly 2010, the identical fault showed as F17, F29, E17 or E29 — the display language changed, the underlying problem did not.
What E30-10 looks like on a Bosch washer dryer

What usually causes it
- Water tap to the machine turned off, or only part-open
- Kinked, trapped or crushed cold fill hose behind the machine
- Blocked filter mesh in the hose connection where it screws onto the tap or the machine
- Faulty water inlet valve (solenoid) not opening when told to
- Pressure sensor or its hose misreading the water level, so the board never sees the drum fill
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Check the tap feeding the machine is fully open — turn it off and back on again to be sure it isn't stuck part-way.
- Pull the machine forward gently and look along the fill hose for kinks or a crushed section where it has been pushed against the wall.
- Run the kitchen or utility cold tap for a moment to confirm you actually have mains pressure and there isn't a supply issue in the house.
- Switch off at the wall for a minute, then power back up and restart a short programme — an intermittent fill fault will often come back straight away, which is useful to know.
- If the hose is easy to unscrew at the tap end by hand with the water off, rinse any grit out of the small filter mesh in the connector.
