What E07 actually means
The hob has lost a reliable temperature reading from the electronics that power the cooking zone, so it has shut that zone down to protect itself.
Inside the RMB60HPEIGL there is a power switching device (the IGBT) that drives the induction coil, and it has its own temperature sensor keeping it within safe limits. E07 means that sensor has failed or is giving a reading the control board will not accept, so the hob stops heating rather than run blind on a component that gets very hot in normal use. The fault pairs E7 and E8 as the same problem on either half of the electronics.
What E07 looks like on a Rangemaster cooker hood

What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Turn the hob off at the wall or at the isolating switch for a minute, then back on \u2014 if the reading was a one-off glitch it will clear
- Make sure nothing is packed tightly in the cupboard or drawer directly under the hob; the electronics need the air gap left at installation
- Let the hob cool completely before retrying if it has been on high heat or Boost for a long spell
- Check nothing is covering or resting on the hob surface while it is in use
