What F05 actually means

The machine can no longer read the water temperature, so it has abandoned the cycle rather than heat blind.

F05 on Whirlpool washers points to the NTC sensor — the thermistor that tells the control board how hot the water in the drum is. When the reading goes out of range, disappears altogether or the wiring to the board is broken, the control has no safe way to manage the heater and stops the programme. You'll typically see it early on, around the point the machine should start warming the water, often with water still sitting in the drum.

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.

Note whether the fault appears at the same point in every cycle and on cold washes too; it's useful information for whoever attends
If there is water left in the drum, run a drain or spin programme if the machine will accept one
