What E00 actually means
E00 isn't a fault at all — it's the machine telling you its memory is clear and no error is stored.
On the Electrolux-family control boards used in Zanussi washer dryers, E00 (sometimes shown as E0) is the "no alarm" reading. It's what the display shows when you're in the diagnostic or error-reading mode and there is nothing logged, and it's also what appears once a previous fault code has been successfully cleared from the software. If you've been through the button sequence to read or wipe the stored code, seeing E00 is the confirmation you wanted.
What E00 looks like on a Zanussi washer dryer
Most people find this page having searched for what the machine is doing rather than the code itself. On a Zanussi washer dryer, E00 usually shows up as one or more of these:
- Machine door won't open
- Door won't lock or click shut
- Door lock light flashing
- Door stuck shut with the load inside
- Won't start even with the door closed
- No function at all
- Dead — nothing lights up
- Lights flashing and nothing happening

What usually causes it
- You've entered the diagnostic/error-reading mode and there is no stored fault
- A previous error code has been cleared from the memory
- The board has been reset, wiping the fault log
- Someone has been shown the code-reading sequence and left the machine in that mode
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Turn the programme dial back to the off position, then set your normal wash and start it — the display should behave as usual
- If the machine still won't run, switch it off at the wall for a minute and try again from a fresh start
- Check the door is properly shut and latched, since the machine won't begin a cycle otherwise
