Which of those two it is decides whether this is a modest repair or a bigger one, so it is the first thing to establish.
The Montpellier fault codes that point at this
A Montpellier electric hob will usually tell you what it thinks is wrong before anyone opens it up. These are the codes we hold for this make that relate to not heating:
- E05 — The hob has got too hot inside and has shut the zone down to protect itself until it cools.
- F09 — The hob has lost a sensible reading from the temperature sensor built into one of its induction coils, so it shuts that zone down rather than heat blind.
If yours is showing one of those, that is a much shorter conversation than a general fault — tell us the code when you book and the engineer can often carry the part.
The usual causes on a Montpellier electric hob
