What is actually happening
Where a single zone has failed the fault is nearly always that zone — its element or its energy regulator. Where the whole hob is dead, the fault is upstream in the supply or the control board. Which of those two it is decides whether this is a modest repair or a bigger one, so it is the first thing to establish.
The Servis fault codes that point at this
A Servis electric hob will usually tell you what it thinks is wrong before anyone opens it up. These are the codes we hold for this make that relate to not heating:
- E02 — The oven's automatic door lock hasn't done what it was told — it either failed to lock before a pyrolytic clean or failed to release afterwards — so the appliance has stopped and flagged the latch.
- E03 — The oven's temperature sensor is no longer giving a sensible reading, so the control board has shut the heating down.
If yours is showing one of those, that is a much shorter conversation than a general fault — tell us the code when you book and the engineer can often carry the part.
The usual causes on a Servis electric hob
- A failed radiant element in one zone
- A failed energy regulator or touch control for that zone
- A failed control board where the whole hob is dead
- A supply fault or tripped breaker on the cooker circuit
What you can safely check yourself
- Test every zone in turn and note which work — one dead zone and one dead hob are different faults
- Check the cooker breaker or isolator switch
- Check whether the oven on the same circuit still works

What Servis error codes mean not heating?
