What E07 actually means

The control board has lost or is disagreeing with the settings that tell it which machine it is fitted to, so it won't run the cycle.

E07 is a configuration failure. The main control board carries a stored setup — the model, the drum size, which heater and sensors are fitted — and if that data is missing, corrupted or doesn't match the hardware it finds, the board halts rather than running a programme it can't trust. It's flagged in the manuals as a service-only code, meaning it isn't normally meant to be displayed to the owner at all, so seeing it on the panel usually points at the board or its programming rather than anything you've done with the load.

Turn the programme knob to the off position, leave it for a few seconds, then switch back on — the manual notes this returns the machine to its factory setting
Switch off at the wall for a minute, then power up again and try a short cycle
