What F03 actually means
The hob has lost a sensible reading from the temperature sensor built into the induction coil, so it has shut that zone down rather than heat blind.
Each induction coil on this hob has its own temperature sensor, and the control board relies on it to know how hot the coil and the glass above it are getting. When the signal from that sensor goes out of range or disappears altogether, the hob stops rather than risk running a coil with no idea of its temperature. HYE's own documentation puts F03 down to a faulty induction coil temperature sensor and points the owner straight at service — it is not a user-correctable setting.
What F03 looks like on a HYE hob
Most people find this page having searched for what the machine is doing rather than the code itself. On a HYE hob, F03 usually shows up as one or more of these:
- Not heating up
- Takes ages to get to temperature
- Cuts out part way through cooking
- Noisy fan
- Not getting cold evenly
- Cuts out after a few minutes
- No function at all
- Dead — nothing lights up
Recognise any of those? That is this fault, and the rest of this page explains what causes it and what you can check yourself.
What usually causes it
- Failed temperature sensor on one of the induction coils
- A loose or damaged connection between the sensor and the control board
- Heat or moisture damage to the sensor after a boil-over or spill
- A fault on the control board itself misreading the sensor
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Switch the hob off at the wall or the isolator for a minute, then back on — an occasional glitch clears and does not return
- Let the hob cool right down before retrying; if the glass is still hot from cooking, give it time and try again from cold
Which HYE models show F03
F03 means the same thing on this model. If yours is not listed, the explanation above still applies — the code is set by the control board, not the model number.

Can I fix HYE F03 myself?
There are 2 checks you can safely do yourself first.
- Switch the hob off at the wall or the isolator for a minute, then back on — an occasional glitch clears and does not return.
- Let the hob cool right down before retrying; if the glass is still hot from cooking, give it time and try again from cold.
This one usually needs an engineer once you have tried them.
How much does it cost to repair HYE F03?

Tried the checks and it's still showing F03?
This one usually needs an engineer once you have tried the checks above. Then it wants someone who can open it up.
