What E30-10 actually means
The machine hasn't taken in the water it expected within the time allowed, so it has stopped rather than run a cycle dry.
On Siemens washer dryers the control board monitors how quickly water arrives once the inlet valve opens at the start of a cycle. If the expected amount hasn't got in by the end of the allotted fill time, the cycle is halted and E30-10 is displayed. It is a fill fault, not a drying or heating fault, which is why it almost always shows up in the first minutes rather than part-way through.
What E30-10 looks like on a Siemens washer dryer

What usually causes it
- Water supply turned off, partly closed, or poor mains pressure
- Kinked, trapped or crushed cold fill hose behind the machine
- Blocked filter in the inlet hose or valve inlet, usually clogged with grit and scale
- Faulty water inlet valve not opening when told to
- Pressure system or control board misreading the water level, so it never sees the fill as complete
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Check the tap feeding the machine is fully open, and run another cold tap in the house to confirm you have normal pressure
- Pull the machine forward gently and look at the fill hose for kinks or a trapped loop behind it
- If you've had work done on the plumbing or the stopcock has been off, make sure the supply has been restored and any air has cleared
- Switch off at the wall for a minute, then power up and start a short cycle to see whether the code returns straight away
