What E10 actually means
One of the buttons on the control panel is being read as permanently pressed, so the appliance has flagged it rather than accepting any more settings changes.
The control board watches how long each button is held. If a button reads as pressed continuously instead of a quick tap, it assumes the button or the touch pad behind it has stuck and shows E10, blinking two of the temperature icons together. Cooling normally carries on in the background, but you may find you cannot change the fridge or freezer setting, switch modes or silence an alarm until the stuck button clears.
What E10 looks like on a Tesla fridge freezer

What usually causes it
- Spilled food or drink dried on the control panel around a button
- Something resting against the panel or leaning on it inside a fitted housing
- A button physically jammed in its housing or a worn membrane behind it
- A failed touch pad or control panel assembly
- Moisture that has worked its way behind the panel
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Wipe the control panel over with a barely damp cloth and dry it fully, paying attention to the edges of each button
- Check nothing is pressing on the panel — a magnet, a shopping bag hooked over the door, or a cupboard door if the fridge freezer is built in
- Press each button once and release it, to see whether one feels sticky or stays down compared with the others
- Switch off at the wall for a minute, then restore power and see whether the code clears
