What H04 actually means
The dishwasher can no longer read the water temperature, so it has stopped rather than carry on blind.
H04 is logged when the control board gets a reading from the NTC temperature sensor that makes no sense \u2014 typically an open circuit or a short. Without a trustworthy temperature reading the machine cannot tell whether the water has reached wash or rinse temperature, so it abandons the programme instead of heating uncontrolled. Owners usually notice it part-way through a cycle, often with cold or barely warm water in the tub and dishes left dirty.
