What E00 actually means

E00 isn't a fault \u2014 it's the machine telling you no errors are stored in its memory.

Electrolux control boards use E00 to mean "no alarm condition". It normally appears when the machine is in its service or diagnostic mode, or straight after a stored fault has been cleared. If you're seeing it, the electronics have not logged a problem.

What E00 looks like on a Electrolux washing machine

Most people find this page having searched for what the machine is doing rather than the code itself. On a Electrolux washing machine, E00 usually shows up as one or more of these:

  • No function at all
  • Dead — nothing lights up
  • Lights flashing and nothing happening
  • Programme won't start
  • Machine tripping the electrics
  • E00 flashing on the display
  • Beeping and showing E00

Recognise any of those? That is this fault, and the rest of this page explains what causes it and what you can check yourself.

What usually causes it

  • The machine has been put into service/diagnostic mode by a button combination
  • A previous stored fault has been cleared from memory
  • Normal display during an engineer's test cycle
  • Buttons pressed together during a cycle, tipping it into test mode

What you can safely check yourself

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.

  1. Turn the machine off at the wall for a minute, then switch back on and select a normal programme
  2. Check the programme dial isn't left in a test or demo position
  3. Run a short cycle to confirm the machine behaves normally

Which Electrolux models show E00

E00 means the same thing on all 5 of these models. If yours is not listed, the explanation above still applies — the code is set by the control board, not the model number.
