What F02 actually means
The dishwasher can see water still flowing in when it has closed the water valve, so it stops rather than risk overfilling.
There is a small flow meter on the fill side that counts water going into the machine. On these Y-series boards, F02 is raised when that meter keeps registering flow after the inlet valve has been switched off — in other words, water is getting in when nothing has asked for it. The control reads that as an uncontrolled fill and halts the programme, usually with the lights blinking rather than the cycle continuing.
What F02 looks like on a Haden dishwasher
Most people find this page having searched for what the machine is doing rather than the code itself. On a Haden dishwasher, F02 usually shows up as one or more of these:
- Dishwasher not draining
- Water left in the tub at the end of the cycle
- Stops mid-cycle full of water
- Standing water in the bottom
- Not filling with water
- No water going in

What usually causes it
- An inlet valve that is not shutting fully, so water seeps past it
- Debris or scale holding the valve slightly open
- A faulty or misreading flow meter reporting movement that is not there
- Wiring or control board fault leaving the valve energised
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Turn the machine off at the wall for a minute, then switch back on to see whether the fault clears
- Turn off the water supply tap to the dishwasher while it is out of use — if it is a leaking valve, this stops water creeping in
- Check the drain hose is not kinked or pushed too far into the standpipe, and that the machine drains away when it does run
