What E06 actually means
The machine has stopped because the control board isn't getting the drum motor to run and report back the way it expects.
On these Sharp washer dryers (built on the Vestel platform) E06 is logged as a motor fault. The board drives the motor and watches the speed feedback coming back from it; if the drum won't turn, turns when it shouldn't, or the feedback doesn't match the command, the cycle is abandoned and the code is shown. The fault for E06 also starts by asking whether the machine's surroundings are within spec, and says not to run it until they are — so an unheated garage, a very damp utility or a badly ventilated cupboard is genuinely part of the picture, not an afterthought.
What E06 looks like on a Sharp washer dryer

What usually causes it

- A loose or corroded plug on the motor or its speed sensor
- Something jamming the drum "" coin, wire or underwear caught between drum and tub
- Damp, freezing or poorly ventilated installation upsetting the motor and control electronics
- Failed motor control section of the main board (often misdiagnosed as a dead motor)
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Turn the machine off at the wall for a minute, then power it back up and try a short cycle "" a one-off feedback glitch will clear.
- With the power off, open the door and turn the drum by hand. It should rotate freely and quietly; grinding, a hard stop or a rattling object inside all point to something in the drum or a mechanical problem.
- Take out some of the load if it was packed tight, and try again.
- If the machine lives somewhere cold or damp, move it or warm the room before running it again "" Sharp specifically say not to run it until the conditions are right.
