What E07 actually means
The machine can't tell how much water is in the drum, so it stops rather than risk overfilling.
E07 means the water level sensor (pressure sensor) is giving a reading the control board doesn't accept. Because the machine has no reliable idea of the water level, it usually keeps draining or refuses to fill, and the cycle won't run. It's a protective stop, not a fault you've caused.
What usually causes it
- Blocked or kinked pressure hose between the tub and the sensor
- Water level sensor itself failed
- Sludge or detergent residue trapping the sensing chamber
- Loose or corroded connection to the control board
- Faulty control board
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Turn the machine off at the wall for a minute, then switch it back on and try a short cycle
- Clean the pump filter at the bottom front and make sure the drum is empty of standing water
- Check the drain hose isn't kinked, crushed behind the machine, or pushed too far down the standpipe
- Check the machine isn't jammed tight against the wall, which can pinch internal hoses
When to call someone
This one usually needs an engineer once you have tried the checks above. We cover Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire, and it's £66 including VAT for an engineer to come out and diagnose it — £84 in total if it's repaired on the visit with no parts needed. Any parts needed are quoted on site before we fit them — you decide. Every repair carries a 90-day workmanship guarantee.
Outside our area? The explanation above still stands — take it to a local engineer and tell them the code. Knowing it saves them time and you money.
