What E08 actually means
The machine isn't getting enough water in, so it has stopped and flagged a fill problem.
Blomberg's E08 means the machine hasn't taken in the water it expected within the time allowed. Most often the tap is shut off or the incoming water pressure is too low — the machine needs at least 1 bar to fill properly. Rather than run a cycle dry, it halts and shows the code.
What usually causes it
- Water tap (spigot) turned off or only part open
- Low mains water pressure at the machine
- Kinked, crushed or trapped fill hose
- Blocked filter in the fill hose or at the tap
- Faulty water inlet valve or pressure sensor inside the machine
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Check the tap feeding the machine is fully open
- Look along the fill hose for kinks or anything standing on it
- Try a cold tap elsewhere in the house — if the flow is weak everywhere, it's a mains pressure issue
- Turn the machine off at the wall for a minute, switch back on and restart the cycle
- If you're comfortable doing so, turn the tap off and unscrew the hose end at the tap to rinse out the small mesh filter, then refit hand-tight
