What E12 actually means

The drying part of the cycle isn't heating up — the drum is turning but the air going through it is staying cold, so the machine stops and flags it.

This code belongs to the drying side of a Candy washer-dryer. The control checks that the air temperature climbs once drying starts, and if it sees no rise it shuts the drying phase down rather than tumbling cold laundry for hours. The three things behind it are the drying heater element, the NTC temperature probe that reports the air temperature back, or the wiring between them and the board.

Check you have actually selected a drying or wash-and-dry programme and not a wash-only cycle
Try a smaller load; a drum packed too full restricts airflow past the sensor
Make sure the machine isn't jammed hard against a wall and that air can move around it
