Candy E14 washing machine: what it means & what to check

What E14 actually means

The machine has decided the water isn't heating up as it should, and has stopped the cycle rather than carry on washing cold.

On Candy machines using the Cuore control board, the temperature sensor (NTC probe) in the tub tells the board how warm the water is. If the board switches the heating element on and the temperature doesn't climb as expected within the time it allows, it flags E14 and abandons the programme — usually part way through the wash, with the drum full of cool water. It's a "no heat" fault rather than a leak or a drainage problem.

What E14 looks like on a Candy washing machine

What usually causes it

Failed water heating element — the most common cause by a long way
Faulty NTC temperature sensor giving a false reading
Damaged or corroded wiring or connections to the element or sensor
Fault on the Cuore power board so the element is never energised

What you can safely check yourself

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.

Switch the machine off at the wall for a minute, then run a short cold programme — if a cold wash completes normally, that points at the heating side rather than anything else
Note whether the cycle always fails at roughly the same point, and whether the glass and door feel cold at that stage; it's useful information for whoever attends
Check the door is closing and latching properly so the cycle isn't being interrupted for another reason
