What F09 actually means
The hob has lost confidence in the temperature sensor that watches over its main power switching component, so it has shut the cooking zones down.
Inside an induction hob the coils are driven by a power switching device called an IGBT, and it gets hot enough that it has its own temperature sensor and cooling. When the control board gets a reading from that sensor it cannot trust — open circuit, short, or a value that makes no sense — it stops heating rather than risk running the power electronics blind. On the C60ISC this shows as F09 (the manual pairs it with FA) and the zones will not respond even though the panel still lights up.
What F09 looks like on a Creda hob
Most people find this page having searched for what the machine is doing rather than the code itself. On a Creda hob, F09 usually shows up as one or more of these:
- Not heating up
- Takes ages to get to temperature
- Cuts out part way through cooking
- Noisy fan
- Not getting cold evenly
- Cuts out after a few minutes
- No function at all
- Dead — nothing lights up

What usually causes it
- The IGBT temperature sensor itself has failed or gone open circuit
- A loose or corroded sensor connection on the power board
- Genuine overheating in the electronics, often from blocked ventilation under the hob
- A fault on the power board that drives the induction coils
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Turn the hob off at the wall or the isolating switch, leave it a minute, then switch back on — the odd one-off sensor glitch clears this way
- Let the hob cool right down before retrying if it had been used hard on several zones
- Make sure nothing stored in the cupboard or drawer directly beneath the hob is pressed up against it and blocking airflow
