What E02 actually means
The machine hasn't taken in enough water in the time it expects, so it has stopped and flagged a fill problem.
E02 is ElectriQ's no-inlet-water code. The machine opens its inlet valve at the start of the cycle, waits for the water level to rise, and if it doesn't see that water arriving it abandons the cycle rather than run the heater and drum dry. The usual symptom is a drum that stays empty and detergent sitting undissolved in the dispenser drawer.
What E02 looks like on a ElectriQ washer dryer
Most people find this page having searched for what the machine is doing rather than the code itself. On a ElectriQ washer dryer, E02 usually shows up as one or more of these:
- Machine not draining
- Water left in the drum at the end of the cycle
- Stops mid-cycle full of water
- Standing water in the bottom
- Not filling with water
- No water going in
- Takes for ever to fill
- Stops right at the start of the cycle
Recognise any of those? That is this fault, and the rest of this page explains what causes it and what you can check yourself.
What usually causes it
- Water tap behind the machine turned off or only part open
- Kinked, twisted or trapped inlet hose
- Blocked mesh filter where the inlet hose screws onto the tap or the machine
- Very low mains water pressure, or the supply off in the house
- Frozen tap or supply pipe in cold weather
- Faulty water inlet valve or pressure/level sensing inside the machine
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Check the cold tap feeding the washer dryer is fully open.
- Pull the machine forward gently and look along the inlet hose for kinks or crush points behind it.
- Turn a nearby cold tap on to confirm you have water and reasonable pressure in the house.
- If the weather has been freezing, check the tap and pipework aren't frozen and let them thaw naturally.
- Turn the machine off at the wall for a minute, then restart the programme.
Which ElectriQ models show E02
E02 means the same thing on all 5 of these models. If yours is not listed, the explanation above still applies — the code is set by the control board, not the model number.

Can I fix ElectriQ E02 myself?
There are 5 checks you can safely do yourself first.
This sometimes clears with those checks. If it comes back, it needs looking at properly.

Tried the checks and it's still showing E02?
This sometimes clears with the checks above. If it comes back, it needs looking at properly. Then it wants someone who can open it up.
