What F51 actually means
One of the machine's sensors is giving a reading the control board doesn't accept, so the cycle is halted.
ElectriQ's own documentation lists F50 and F51 together as an abnormal sensor fault. The control board relies on sensor readings to judge drum conditions and manage the heat pump side of the machine, and when a reading is missing or out of range it shuts the programme down rather than carry on blind. On the EIQTDHPFS9 it typically shows up part-way through drying rather than at the moment you press start.
What F51 looks like on a ElectriQ washer dryer
Most people find this page having searched for what the machine is doing rather than the code itself. On a ElectriQ washer dryer, F51 usually shows up as one or more of these:
- Not drying
- Blowing cold air
- Clothes still damp at the end
- Takes hours to dry
- Not drying properly
- Takes hours to dry a load

What usually causes it
- A failed temperature or humidity sensor in the drum or airflow path
- A loose or corroded connection to that sensor
- Heavy lint build-up restricting airflow so the sensor sees nonsense readings
- A fault on the control board itself misreading a healthy sensor
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Turn the dial to OFF, leave the machine for at least 10 seconds, then restart — the manual gives this as the first step and a one-off glitch will often clear
- Take out and clean the lint filter thoroughly, including the mesh, and refit it properly
- Switch off at the wall for a minute before powering back up
- Check the machine isn't crammed full and that nothing is blocking air movement around it
