What E10 actually means

The machine has waited for water to come in, not got enough in the time allowed, and paused itself with a "check the tap" warning.

Electrolux treats E10 as a user-manageable warning rather than a hard fault, which is why the display prompts you to check the tap and the buzzer gives three short beeps every 20 seconds. The machine drops into pause with the Start/Pause light flashing at the point in the cycle where it was trying to fill, and it will hold there until water arrives or you switch it off. Nine times out of ten the water is genuinely not reaching the valve fast enough.

Faulty water inlet valve or pressure sensing, if the supply is fine

What you can safely check yourself

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.

Check the water tap behind or under the machine is fully open
Pull the machine out gently and look along the fill hose for kinks or crush points
Turn the tap off, unscrew the hose by hand at the tap end and check the small mesh filter for grit, then refit it firmly
Run a cold tap in the kitchen to confirm you have normal water pressure
Switch off at the wall for a minute, then power up and restart the cycle
