What E58 actually means
The board that drives the motor has seen a sudden surge of current through it and shut the motor down to protect itself.
The motor control board watches the current going to each motor phase. If it spikes past its limit — the documents put the software threshold at 6A — the board cuts power to the motor and drops into a safe state. It will retry up to five times during a cycle, pausing about ten seconds between attempts, and if the surge is still there it locks the fault in, stops the machine and releases the door. That is why you often see the drum try to turn, stop, try again, then give up part-way through a wash or spin.
What E58 looks like on a Electrolux washer dryer

What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Turn the machine off at the wall for a minute, then switch back on and start a short cycle — if the surge was a one-off the code may not return.
- Take some of the load out. A drum packed tight, or a single heavy item like a duvet bunched on one side, can push the motor hard enough to trip this.
- Check nothing is jamming the drum — a stray coin, bra wire or item of clothing caught between drum and tub will stall the motor.
- Make sure the machine is standing level and not rocking; heavy vibration during spin makes unbalanced loads worse.
