Electrolux E73 washer dryer: what it means & what to check

What E73 actually means

The machine has lost a sensible reading from the temperature sensor that controls drying, so it has switched the drying heat off and will only wash.

E73 is logged when the control board reads a voltage from the drying NTC (the temperature sensor on the drying circuit) that falls outside its allowed range — or when the temperature fails to climb by the expected amount within the expected time during a drying step. Because the board can no longer trust what it is being told about heat, it deliberately skips the drying heating phases rather than risk running the heater blind. Washing cycles generally still complete normally; the load simply comes out wet at the end.

What you can safely check yourself

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.

Reset the current cycle, or press start/pause once the cycle has finished — on this control system that is how the alarm is cleared. Note that switching the machine off at the wall will NOT clear it, so if the code returns it is a live fault rather than a glitch.
Run a wash-only cycle to confirm washing is unaffected and it is only the drying side that has stopped heating.
Empty the machine and check nothing is blocking or restricting airflow around the drum before drying — an overloaded drum can leave the load damp for reasons unrelated to a fault.
