Stop using it for now. Carrying on with this fault risks further damage or a leak. Switch it off at the wall until it has been looked at.

What E67 actually means

The control board has lost proper control of the fan motor circuit and has halted the cycle.

On these dryers the fan motor is switched by a triac on the control electronics. E67 means that switching control has failed its own check — either the board can no longer drive the fan motor properly, or the motor's connection to the board has been lost. Because the fan drives the airflow that carries heat and moisture out of the drum, the machine stops rather than heat with no air moving.

What E67 looks like on a Electrolux tumble dryer

Most people find this page having searched for what the machine is doing rather than the code itself. On a Electrolux tumble dryer, E67 usually shows up as one or more of these:

  • Not drying
  • Blowing cold air
  • Clothes still damp at the end
  • Takes hours to dry
  • Drum not turning
  • Won't spin
  • Hums or buzzes but nothing moves
  • Turns one way only

Recognise any of those? That is this fault, and the rest of this page explains what causes it and what you can check yourself.

What usually causes it

  • Fan motor wiring or plug not making a connection at the board
  • Faulty triac on the control electronics
  • Faulty CRM (control) board
  • Fan motor itself failing and dragging the drive circuit down

What you can safely check yourself

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.

  1. Turn the dryer off at the wall for a minute, then switch back on and start a cycle — if it was a one-off electrical glitch the code may not return
  2. Clear the lint filters and, on condenser models, rinse the fluff from the condenser unit, since restricted airflow makes the fan work harder than it should
  3. Check the dryer isn't pushed hard against a wall or vent hose kinked, so air can move freely

Which Electrolux models show E67

E67 means the same thing on this model. If yours is not listed, the explanation above still applies — the code is set by the control board, not the model number.

Common questions about Electrolux E67

What does E67 mean on a Electrolux tumble dryer?

Can I fix Electrolux E67 myself?

There are 3 checks you can safely do yourself first.

  1. Turn the dryer off at the wall for a minute, then switch back on and start a cycle — if it was a one-off electrical glitch the code may not return.
  2. Clear the lint filters and, on condenser models, rinse the fluff from the condenser unit, since restricted airflow makes the fan work harder than it should.
  3. Check the dryer isn't pushed hard against a wall or vent hose kinked, so air can move freely.

Tried the checks and it's still showing E67?
