What F14 actually means

The machine has found a fault with its heating — on a Hotpoint washer dryer this is almost always the drying element — and it has abandoned the cycle rather than carry on cold.

The control board monitors whether the heater is doing its job and, on the EVO1-based washer dryers, F14 is flagged specifically against the dryer element.
