What E02 actually means
The machine hasn't taken in the water it expected, so it has stopped and flagged a fill fault.
On these Servis washer dryers E02 is the "no water" error. The control board opens the inlet valve at the start of a fill and watches the water level sensor (and, on the models fitted with one, the flowmeter) to confirm water is arriving; if the level doesn't rise within the time allowed, it abandons the cycle and shows E02 rather than run the drum or heater dry. It's one of the four codes Servis intended the end user to see, so it can appear at any fill — main wash, rinse, or the water top-up during a drying cycle.
What E02 looks like on a Servis washer dryer
Most people find this page having searched for what the machine is doing rather than the code itself. On a Servis washer dryer, E02 usually shows up as one or more of these:
- Not filling with water
- No water going in
- Takes for ever to fill
- Stops right at the start of the cycle
- Overfilling, or won't stop filling
- Stops with water still inside
- Fills and drains over and over
- Not drying
Recognise any of those? That is this fault, and the rest of this page explains what causes it and what you can check yourself.
What usually causes it
- Water tap turned off or only part open
- Kinked, crushed or trapped inlet hose behind the machine
- Blocked filter mesh in the inlet hose or valve inlet
- Faulty inlet valve solenoid not opening
- Water level sensor or flowmeter misreading, so the fill is never confirmed
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Check the cold tap feeding the machine is fully open, and that you have normal pressure from other taps in the house
- Pull the machine out gently and make sure the inlet hose isn't kinked, twisted or pinched against the wall
- If your mains water has been off or worked on recently, run a tap for a minute to clear air and debris before trying again
- Switch off at the socket for a minute, then power up and restart the programme to see if the code returns
- If it only fails on a drying cycle, note that — it helps the engineer pin down which valve is at fault
Which Servis models show E02
E02 means the same thing on all 5 of these models. If yours is not listed, the explanation above still applies — the code is set by the control board, not the model number.

Can I fix Servis E02 myself?
There are 5 checks you can safely do yourself first.
- Check the cold tap feeding the machine is fully open, and that you have normal pressure from other taps in the house.
- Pull the machine out gently and make sure the inlet hose isn't kinked, twisted or pinched against the wall.
- If your mains water has been off or worked on recently, run a tap for a minute to clear air and debris before trying again.
- Switch off at the socket for a minute, then power up and restart the programme to see if the code returns.
- If it only fails on a drying cycle, note that — it helps the engineer pin down which valve is at fault.
This sometimes clears with those checks. If it comes back, it needs looking at properly.
How much does it cost to repair Servis E02?
£66 including VAT for an engineer to come out and diagnose it, or £84 in total including VAT if it is put right on the visit and no parts are needed. Any parts needed are quoted on site before we fit them — you decide. Every repair carries a 90-day workmanship guarantee.
Tried the checks and it's still showing E02?
This sometimes clears with the checks above. If it comes back, it needs looking at properly. Then it wants someone who can open it up.
What it costs, before you call: the price is the same whatever the fault turns out to be — £66 including VAT for an engineer to come out and diagnose it, or £84 in total including VAT if it is put right on the visit and no parts are needed.
