What E35 actually means
The heating element that warms the air for drying has gone open circuit, so the machine won't dry your washing.
This code only applies to Beko washer dryers. The control board checks the air heaters before and during the drying stage; if it sees no electrical continuity through them, it flags E35 and skips the drying phase. The wash and spin still complete normally, so the giveaway symptom is a cycle that finishes on time but leaves the load wet.
What usually causes it
- The drying air heater element has burnt out (the usual finding)
- A thermal cut-out on the heater channel has tripped, often after restricted airflow
- Loose or corroded connection at the heater
- Control board fault falsely reading the heater as open circuit
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Turn the machine off at the wall for a minute, switch back on and try a short drying cycle \u2014 this clears the odd one-off reading
- Clean the fluff filter and make sure the drain filter is clear, as poor airflow contributes to heater cut-outs
- Check the machine isn't pushed hard against a wall with the drain hose kinked behind it
