What F01 actually means
The touch control panel on the hob has failed its own self-test, so the hob shuts down rather than run with controls it can't trust.
When the hob powers up it checks the touch control board that sits under the glass and reads your finger presses. F01 means that board has reported a hardware fault within itself, not a problem with a cooking zone or a pan. Because the hob can no longer be certain it is reading the controls correctly, it locks out and refuses to heat.
What F01 looks like on a Beko hob
Most people find this page having searched for what the machine is doing rather than the code itself. On a Beko hob, F01 usually shows up as one or more of these:
- Not heating up
- Takes ages to get to temperature
- Cuts out part way through cooking
- No function at all
- Dead — nothing lights up
- Lights flashing and nothing happening
- Programme won't start
- Hob tripping the electrics

What usually causes it
- A failed touch control board — the usual outcome on this fault
- Moisture or long-standing spillage soaking into the control area under the glass
- Heat damage to the control board from repeated boil-overs or a pan left against the panel
- Loss of connection between the touch control board and the main board
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Turn the hob off at the wall or the fuse switch, leave it a minute, then power it back up — an occasional one-off reading will clear
- Make sure the glass over the touch controls is completely dry and free of spilt liquid, cleaning fluid or grease
- Take anything resting on the control area off the glass — pan handles, cloths, packaging — before powering up
