What C01 actually means
C01 isn't a fault at all — it's the last second of the three-second countdown as the child lock is being switched on or off.
When you hold the auxiliary function buttons down, the display counts "C03", "C02", "C01" one second at a time. At the end of the third second the machine either shows the child lock symbol (lock now on) or "COF" (lock now off). Seeing C01 flash past means the machine registered your button press, nothing more — there is no stored error and nothing needs repairing.
What C01 looks like on a Blomberg washing machine

What usually causes it

- Child lock already engaged, so the machine repeats the warning when any button or the programme dial is touched
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- If the controls won't respond and the lock symbol is showing, hold the 1st and 2nd auxiliary function buttons together for three seconds — the display should count C03, C02, C01 and then show COF, meaning the lock is off
- If a programme was interrupted, note that turning the dial to On/Off and reselecting will pick the old programme up where it stopped, so switch off fully at the wall for a minute if you want a clean start
- Keep the panel dry and clear of anything resting against the buttons
