Candy E09 washing machine: what it means & what to check

What E09 actually means

The main circuit board that drives the drum motor has failed, so the machine cuts out rather than run the motor.

Candy's own service information puts E09 on the "Cuore" power card — specifically the TRIAC, the switching component on that board that feeds power to the motor — or the wiring between the board and the motor. When the control detects that circuit is not behaving, it stops the programme rather than risk driving the motor uncontrolled. In practice you'll usually see a drum that won't turn at all, or one that starts to move and then the machine halts, often with water still in it.
