ElectriQ E02 tumble dryer: what it means & what to check

What E02 actually means

The machine has asked for water and not received enough of it in the time allowed, so it has stopped and put E02 on the display.

E02 is the no-fill fault: the control board opened the inlet valve, watched the water level, and saw it stay too low. Because there's no point tumbling or heating a load that never got wet, the cycle halts rather than carrying on. On the washer-dryer models in this range it usually shows up in the first minute or two, often with a dry drum and detergent still sitting in the drawer.

What usually causes it

The water tap at the back has been turned off or only partly opened
Inlet hose kinked, trapped or crushed behind the machine
Blocked mesh filter in the inlet hose or at the water valve
Low or no water pressure to the house, or frozen pipework in cold weather
Faulty water inlet valve or level sensing on the control board

What you can safely check yourself

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.

Check the water tap feeding the machine is fully open, and try another cold tap in the house to confirm you have pressure and supply.
Look along the fill hose for kinks or twists — it's easily crushed when a machine has been pushed back into place.
In freezing weather, allow time for the tap and pipework to thaw before trying again.
Make sure START/PAUSE was actually pressed and no delay-end timer is running, as the machine won't call for water until the cycle starts.
Turn it off at the wall for a minute, then power up and restart the programme to clear the code.
