What E43 actually means
The machine can't power the door lock properly he has, so it stops rather than start a wash with a door it isn't sure is locked.
E43 is one of Electrolux's E4x door-locking faults. Specifically, the switching device on the main control board that sends power to the door interlock has failed — the board asks for the door to lock, doesn't get the response it expects, and pauses the cycle. On the display you'll normally see E40 flashing with the alarm LED, since the E4x family all cover door closure problems.
What E43 looks like on a Electrolux washing machine

What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Turn the machine off at the wall for a minute, then power it back up — occasionally a one-off glitch clears.
- Check nothing is trapped in the door seal and the door shuts firmly on its catch.
- Take a heavy or overpacked load out and reclose the door, so the lock isn't fighting the drum.
