What E06 actually means

The machine's main control board can't read its own stored settings, so it refuses to start a cycle.

E06 is an EEPROM fault on the "Cuore" power card — the memory chip that holds the board's programme data has become unreadable or corrupted. Hoover's own documents point at a defective power card or its wiring, so the machine stops rather than run a programme it can't verify. You'll typically see the code appear seconds after switching on or selecting a wash, with no water and no drum movement.
