What F01 actually means
The machine has decided the temperature sensor reading is impossible, so it has stopped rather than risk heating the water blind.
F01 points to the NTC sensor \u2014 the small probe that tells the control board how hot the water in the drum is \u2014 reading as short-circuited. With no trustworthy temperature reading, the Miele will not switch the heater on, so the cycle either halts early or the wash stays cold. It is a protective stop, not a sign the drum or motor is failing.
What F01 looks like on a Miele washing machine
Most people find this page having searched for what the machine is doing rather than the code itself. On a Miele washing machine, F01 usually shows up as one or more of these:

- Note whether the wash water ever gets warm; that helps the engineer confirm the heating circuit before he arrives.
