What E02 actually means

The machine isn't getting enough water in the time it expects, so it has stopped the wash.

What you can safely check yourself

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.

Check the cold water tap behind the machine is fully open.
Look along the inlet hose for kinks or a crush point where the machine has been pushed back.
Run a nearby cold tap to confirm you have normal mains pressure.
Turn the machine off at the wall for a minute, switch back on and restart the programme.
If a hose is fitted with a small filter at the tap end, close the tap, unscrew the hose by hand and rinse any grit out of the mesh.
