What F08 actually means

The dishwasher's control board has failed a check on its own stored settings, so it flags a fault instead of trusting them.

When the machine powers up it verifies the programme data held in the control board's memory against a checksum. If that check doesn't add up, the board can no longer be sure which wash settings it is meant to be running, so it reports the fault rather than carry on. On these Montpellier boards the code is usually held back and shown at the end of the programme, with the indicator lights flashing together on models without a digital display. On one variant of the board the same code is used for an open circuit at the diverter valve motor, which is why it is worth having the fault read properly rather than assumed.

Run a short programme and note whether the fault reappears at the end of the cycle, as that tells the engineer whether it is persistent
Check the door closes and latches firmly, so you are not chasing two faults at once
