What E13 actually means

The machine's display/control panel and its main circuit board have stopped talking to each other, so the wash won't run.

E13 is a communication fault between the display board behind the control panel and the main electronic board that actually runs the machine. Because the two can't exchange signals reliably, the machine halts rather than starting or continuing a programme. It's an internal electronics fault, not something caused by your washing or water supply.

What E13 looks like on a New World washing machine

Check the machine isn't standing in a very damp spot or has had water splashed over the control panel
