What E12 actually means

The control board has lost communication with the 3D module — the electronic unit that reports drum movement and load information — so the machine stops rather than run blind.

The main control expects a steady stream of data from that module and, when it doesn't get a sensible reply, it abandons the programme and puts E12 on the display.
