What E02 actually means
The dryer thinks its water tank is full and has stopped drying until it's emptied.
On a Beko condenser dryer, the moisture pulled out of the load collects in a water container. When the float or sensor in that container reads full, the machine halts the cycle and shows this code so the drum doesn't keep running with nowhere for the water to go. Nine times out of ten it is exactly what it says — but we also see it on dryers where the tank is plainly empty, and that points at the level sensor or float sticking rather than a real overflow.
What usually causes it
- Water container genuinely full after a long or heavy load
- Tank not pushed fully back into its housing, so the sensor stays tripped
- Float inside the container stuck with lint or scale
- Drain hose kit fitted but kinked or run too high, so water backs up into the tank
- Faulty water level sensor or float switch reporting full when it isn't
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Pull the water container out, empty it and slide it back until it seats properly
- Rinse the container out and check the float inside moves freely
- If the dryer has been plumbed to a drain, check the hose isn't kinked, trapped behind the machine or looped up high
- Clean the lint filter and give the condenser access area a look while you're there
- Switch off at the wall for a minute, then power up and restart the cycle
