What E18 actually means

The dryer's control board has lost communication with the drum motor's electronics, so it won't run.

Beko dryers of this type use a brushless (BLDC) motor with its own control electronics, and the main board talks to that motor circuit constantly while the drum turns. When the messages stop or come back wrong, the machine halts and shows E18 rather than risk running the motor blind. In practice the drum usually won't turn at all, or it stops shortly after you press start.

What E18 looks like on a Beko tumble dryer

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.

Turn the dryer off at the wall socket, leave it for a minute, then switch back on and try a short cycle — an occasional one-off communication glitch will clear
Make sure the dryer is plugged straight into a wall socket rather than an extension lead or adaptor
Check the door is closing and latching properly so you can rule out a start-up problem being mistaken for this fault
