Stop using it for now. Carrying on with this fault risks further damage or a leak. Switch it off at the wall until it has been looked at.

What E34 actually means

The sensor in the condenser area is reading a temperature that's too high, so the dryer has shut the cycle down to protect itself.

Beko condenser dryers have a temperature sensor (an NTC thermistor) watching the air passing through the condenser. If that reading climbs past the safe limit, the control board stops the programme and shows this code rather than carry on heating. It is nearly always a symptom of poor airflow through the condenser and filters rather than a fault with the sensor itself, though a failing sensor can read high and trigger it too.

What usually causes it

  • Blocked or fluff-clogged fluff filters
  • Condenser unit choked with lint, or not seated properly after cleaning
  • Restricted airflow inside the machine — dust build-up on the heat exchanger
  • Faulty condenser NTC temperature sensor reading falsely high
  • Fan or heater control fault causing genuine overheating

What you can safely check yourself

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.

  1. Take out the door filter and the lower filter, rinse them under the tap, dry them and refit
  2. On models with a removable condenser, pull it out, rinse it through, let it drain and make sure it clicks fully back into place with the cover latched
  3. Check the machine has room to breathe — not shoved tight against a wall or shut in a small hot cupboard
  4. Turn it off at the wall for a minute, then power up and start a short cycle to see if the code returns

When to call someone

This sometimes clears with the checks above. If it comes back, it needs looking at properly. We cover Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire, and it's £66 including VAT for an engineer to come out and diagnose it — £84 in total if it's repaired on the visit with no parts needed. Any parts needed are quoted on site before we fit them — you decide. Every repair carries a 90-day workmanship guarantee.

Outside our area? The explanation above still stands — take it to a local engineer and tell them the code. Knowing it saves them time and you money.
