Stop using it for now. Carrying on with this fault risks further damage or a leak. Switch it off at the wall until it has been looked at.

What E19 actually means

The dryer's motor control has halted the drum motor and stopped the programme.

Beko dryers of this type use a brushless (BLDC) drum motor with its own control electronics. E19 is logged when that control system pauses the motor rather than carrying on \u2014 so the drum stops turning and the cycle ends early, usually with clothes still damp. It sits in the same family as the other BLDC codes (communication faults and speed-tolerance faults), which all point at the motor and its control side rather than at heating or drainage.

What usually causes it

  • Fault in the motor control electronics
  • Wiring or connector problem between the control board and the drum motor
  • Drum jammed or heavily overloaded so the motor cannot turn freely
  • Failing brushless drum motor
  • Unstable mains supply upsetting the motor control

What you can safely check yourself

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.

  1. Turn the dryer off at the wall for a minute, then switch back on and restart a cycle \u2014 a one-off pause can clear.
  2. Take the load out and check nothing is wedged around the drum, then run it empty on a short programme.
  3. Reduce the load size; overpacked drums make the motor work far harder than intended.
  4. Clean the door filter and check the condenser/filter area is not clogged, as poor airflow makes the machine run hot and struggle.

When to call someone

This one usually needs an engineer once you have tried the checks above. We cover Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire, and it's £66 including VAT for an engineer to come out and diagnose it — £84 in total if it's repaired on the visit with no parts needed. Any parts needed are quoted on site before we fit them — you decide. Every repair carries a 90-day workmanship guarantee.

Outside our area? The explanation above still stands — take it to a local engineer and tell them the code. Knowing it saves them time and you money.
