What E29 actually means
The machine has stopped because the electricity reaching it is either too low or too high for it to run safely.
Beko washing machines monitor the mains voltage while they run. If it drops below roughly 150 volts or climbs well above normal, the machine halts and shows E29 rather than risk damaging the motor, heater or control board. It can also show up alongside symptoms like cycles taking much longer than usual or the wash not heating properly.
What usually causes it
- A genuine dip or surge in the household mains supply
- Extension lead, adaptor or multi-way socket causing voltage drop
- A poor or loose connection at the wall socket or plug
- A faulty mains cable to the machine
- A fault on the machine's control board misreading the voltage
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Turn the machine off at the wall, wait a minute, switch back on and restart a programme
- Plug it straight into a wall socket rather than an extension lead or adaptor
- Check whether other appliances in the house are flickering, tripping or behaving oddly — if so the problem may be the supply, not the machine
- Try a different wall socket on another circuit if the cable reaches safely
